Out Side the Box with Information Products

Good Job!  You are doing all those things your coach or the article you read said for you to do for promoting your information product online as a result  your passive income has been slowly but surely increasing.  However are you forgetting something?  What about the people you see everyday?

  • The grocery store
  • The library
  • The gym
  • The radio station
  • The hair salon
  • The nail salon

These are your offline markets that you just might not be tapping.

Expensive ads are not even the best way.  There are several ways reach your target market, offline as well as on.

For example, have you thought about simply including the link you want to drive them to on your business card, under your signature?  DO you have a business card?

It takes seconds to put that link in your signature or resource box on press releases or letters you send to local papers, too.   You do press releases correct?  (Check out 24/7 PressRelease)

And don’t neglect your local store and community center bulletin board as a place to plant your flyers – with your product link in the tear off tags, as well as the usual phone number.

The Hidden Market – In Plain Sight

But there’ s one more way to get your name out, and capture an offline lead. Local organizations are always looking for guest speakers. See if there’s a “business startup” program that’s partially government-funded, or one that’s provided by another agency.

Find out the name of the contact person – all you have to do is phone the agency, or drop in and ask. Approach them, and offer to be a guest speaker on the subject of “marketing online” or “internet promotion”. Chances are, surprising as it may sound, they won’t have anyone in their number who can fulfill that function. They’ll most likely jump on your offer – especially if it’s free.

And all you do is hand out your business card at the end of your helpful seminar – with (you guessed it) your information product link below your signature.

Create Your Own Opportunities

That brings us to our last 2 offline promotion methods. Don’t waste the space on the back of that business card – fill it with a small ad for your product in the style of direct response ads, getting right to the point.  (Add a coupon with a discount number so you can track how effective this method is)

And (especially if you live in a small town) be sure to phone your local radio station, and offer to be a guest. Have a one-page promotional bio page ready to fax or email them, if they ask.

Remember the purpose of the bio page is to tell them why you would be an interesting guest for their readers – and cut out anything else (except credentials you’d like to include.)   Save anything else to when you are the guest and take in an introduction sheet or quick fact sheet re: you for the radio personality .  You might think that it would be hard, getting a guest spot on a radio show, but the truth is, it’s more often not. People are always looking for interesting guests to fill up slots in a show, and they’re delighted when one who’s well-prepared walks through the door, for free.

But there’s one final tip about offline promotion that has served me better than any other. I take my motto from the boy scouts: “Always be prepared.” Always have those business cards tucked away in your pocket, wallet or purse. Carry a few extra in the car – and be ready to make your pitch, when asked.

After all, there’s no point going to all that trouble to beef up your business cards – if you forget to have them with you!

Always Progressing…

P.S.  Do not forget to look in the mirror before you go out of the house,  how you are dressed (like a bum or like a successful WAHM) and what you look  like   (need a comb/brush? need breath freshner?)makes a big impact on some people.

What are my rights?

How To Resell Ebooks To Increase Your Passive Income

Adding resell rights to your information products can create a small but significant added value, if you’re considering purchasing ones to augment your info product offerings – but you have to know how to resell eBooks in the most effective way possible.

If you’re not familiar with the different kinds of resell rights, they can be confusing to a new marketer. Many people stay away from them, as a result – but it’s a shame to deny yourself the chance to put a really good resell rights product to work for you, if you find one that’s ideal: Either for your list – or the affiliate marketer you’re hoping to impress.

Let’s quickly go over the basic types of resell rights, and then I’ll give you my best 2 recommendations…

Basic Resell Rights

- May resell eBook unlimited times and keep 100% of your sales.
- Cannot change the content
- Always check license terms to see if there are restrictions on the price you are allowed to sell it for
- You must not imply or state that you are the author
- Most important: You cannot transfer your Resale Rights to any buyer

Giveaway Rights

- Can include as a bonus or part of an offer
- Can give away, but never sell or alter the book contents in any way
- Best use: Good for increasing your value or generating sign-ups

Master Resell Rights

- Can resell or include as a bonus – as well as sell the Resell Rights License
- Usually more expensive, to reflect the greater value
- May be some restrictions. Always read the license
Private Label Resell Rights (PLR)
- Can and should be customized and changed
- Comes in .txt format
- You can combine PLR articles or split a PLR eBook into different modules (ecourses or email series, blog posts, etc.)
- You can and should put your own name on it

Branding Rights

- Can replace existing links with your own custom ones to create instant commission when the customer purchases the product

Master Resell Rights books allow you to give your purchasers greater value by transferring the resell rights, whereas offering Branding Rights allows to your affiliates, so they can brand it as their own, can really sweeten the incentive to add your product to their roster.

Brandable Rights are the easiest type of eBook for affiliates to customize, if you’re hoping to get affiliates (especially top-level ones) to promote your products.  And the less they have to work on your products, the more affiliates love you!

The downside? Both Master Resell Rights and Brandable Rights products are at the top end of the price scale to purchase. But usually the difference isn’t so great that it doesn’t outweigh the advantages of saving time on new product creation, or attracting even one more priceless affiliate.
As you can see, Master Resell Rights and Brandable Rights are definitely the 2 best types of resell rights to invest in, if you’re planning to use resell rights eBook to boost your online passive income.

Are You Totally Discounting …

the `Information’ In Your Information Business?

We hear the term “information product” so often, it’s really lost its meaning – but if you shift your thinking to consider yourself an information business, you can really boost all the online passive income you create.

Because your conversions will reflect that shift in thinking. An information product is an isolated creature. Oh, you know your own niche really well (and you’ve probably got a few more – am I right?)

But most people either sell one lonely product and rush off to milk another niche – or they don’t stop to think of their offerings as a “whole”, each one a vital component in the ultimate authority site on a subject.

Let me show you what I mean…

Your niche is “spinning wool”.  You put out an eBook on antique spinning wheels. Then, 3 months later, you offer them one “Double drive spinning wheels”.  A month afterwards, it’s “How To Collect Rovings from the Wild”, followed by “Knitting Patterns for Children.”

Letting The Forest Affect The Trees…

You’ve probably spent some time researching keywords to arrive at these as viable additions to your info product offerings… but if you were to shift your thinking and decide to become the ultimate authority site on everything to do with spinning, the consistency and logical progression of your offerings would increase your value as an expert in that niche. Instead of focusing on “trees” like single information products, you’re now focusing on the “forest” – and how the trees affect its general health.

So sit down with a real piece of paper – and a pencil, with an erasable end. Spend some time thinking of all the topics you have to cover, to teach people everything they want to know about spinning wool. I’m betting that’s a lot of topics!

Now organize them, according to category.  Some good categories to use “beginner”, “intermediate” and “advanced”.  Now, I don’t know the spinning niche – but I’m betting you could easily start thinking up other great categories to move people through – so that each product they buy seems like a logical progression. And as you add more information products, your site will remain well organized, enabling readers to “jump” straight to their appropriate category – without having to browse through eBooks they don’t want.

Organizing your information product empire in this way not only pleases and impresses your visitors and makes full use of your niche opportunities – it will show up in your increased online passive income!
